Where We Are
Where We Meet, is a collaboration with artist Sabita Lakshmanan, my roommate during the 2025 Art for Change residency in Mussoorie, India. This residency explored the theme of Boundary Crossing: Interfaith Dialogue.
Though divided by religion, geography, age, and race Sabita and I are connected through our shared practices of yoga and art. Together, we created this piece as a statement of unity. Using Flashe paint and brushes made from found materials in Mussoorie, like bamboo and brooms, we abstracted our individual interpretations of space. We moved in tandem producing kinetic body drawings while flowing through yoga, deepening the theme of interconnection and shared practice..
Ultimately, this work asks: how do we respond to difference? In the context of interfaith dialogue, how do we hold space? First for ourselves, and then for others.
